How it works
A COA is issued against a single lot, identified by a lot number. Because purity and identity are measured on that lot, the certificate applies only to that lot; a later production run gets its own certificate with its own numbers.
A Lineará certificate reports the product identity (name, CAS, molecular formula, molecular weight), the measured purity as a percentage, the analytical methods used (reversed-phase HPLC for purity, ESI-MS for identity), the manufacturing and testing dates, and the name of the independent laboratory that performed the testing.
The certificate distinguishes what was measured from what is definitional. Identity chemistry — CAS, formula, mass — is a property of the molecule; purity is a property of the lot. Reading a certificate means keeping that distinction in view.
Why it matters
The COA is the primary evidence that a research material is what it claims to be and as pure as it claims. It converts a claim into measurements, methods, and a named laboratory.
Because it is per-lot, a COA makes variation visible: comparing certificates across lots shows whether purity is stable over time, which a single headline number cannot.
A certificate is only as meaningful as the methods it names. Purity without a method is not comparable, so the certificate states the method to let a number be read in context.
